Guanghan Meng is an Assistant Professor at the Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry and Vision Science, with a joint appointment in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (EECS) at UC Berkeley. Her research integrates optical physics and computational science to develop advanced optical microscopy technologies for imaging the eye and brain. She specializes in optical coherence tomography (OCT), multiphoton fluorescence microscopy, and machine learning-enhanced multimodal imaging to investigate myopia, glaucoma, and ocular manifestations of systemic diseases. Meng earned her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2015 and her Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology (MCB) from UC Berkeley in 2021. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in EECS at UC Berkeley as a CIVO Fellow and has been a faculty member since January 2025. She is beyond thrilled to continue her journey at Berkeley, working at the forefront of vision science and optical innovation.
